A marvellous site surrounded by the mountains of Telemark and with a unique view on the GautaTOP. The site is surrounded by medieval stonewalls and next to the camping there are different hyttes in the Telemark style. On site we … have a few historical buildings and monuments. Just 10-20 minutes from our park you can explore the wild nature of Norway. Like hiking on the Hardangervidda, one of the largest wilderness in South Norway with an artic climate and more than 11.000 reindeers, or climbing the Gaustatoppen ( 1.833 meters) with on top a view over 1/6 of Norway. If you like history, Rjukan is part of the UNESCO heritage; a nice overview can be find in the Vemork museum. Also in the winter different sports can be done here, skiing at the Gaustablikk skisentre, Nordic walking and most famous is the area for the ice climbers. Rjukan has become known as northern Europe’s premier ice climbing spot. In all seasons it is a party to spend some time here.
